Christian County Out of the ‘COVID Red’ for the First Time Since October

Christian County’s COVID-19 case total is creeping closer to 6,000 cases since the pandemic began but the good news is, it’s taking longer to get there than it did in January.

Christian County reported just 23 new cases since Friday. The 247 active cases are the fewest since October 16. Every age demographic showed a significant decrease with the 64 cases reported in the 21 and under age group the fewest since November 23.

The 139 cases in the 22 to 59 age group is the fewest since October 30.

Christian County’s incidence rate as defined by the state has been out of the red for three straight days for the first time since the first three days of October.

On Monday, the incidence rate was 16.6-per 1,000 population for a second straight day.

Christian County has reported 5,993 cases of COVID-19 since last spring, but the number reported this month is a nearly 200-percent decrease from the first 15 days of January.
