Man Severely Injured In Trigg County Officer-Involved Shooting

Authorities have released more details about an officer-involved shooting on Bush Road in Trigg County Monday night.

Kentucky State Police said Tuesday Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Bush Road for a possible intoxicated driver. The report notes that when deputies made contact with a man, he brandished and discharged a firearm. Deputies then returned fire with their weapons, striking and wounding him.

However, Trigg County emergency personnel said deputies were called to the area for a report of a possibly suicidal man. Shortly after they arrived, deputies reported shots were fired and asked for an ambulance for the man, who suffered several gunshot wounds.

Trigg County Sheriff Aaron Acree says the man shot at deputies and the deputies returned fire.

The unnamed man was taken by ambulance to Trigg County Hospital. No information about his condition has been released.

Acree says the deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave.
