The longest-serving Mayor of Calvert City passed away Saturday.
The city reported the death of Mayor Lynn Jones, with the Marshall County Tribune Courier adding he died at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
Jones began his city government service when former mayor Kean McKinney appointed him to the Calvert City Water Board. He then became a council member in 1987 and was elected Mayor in 1998.
He was 70.
