Kentucky To Receive More COVID-19 Vaccines From Federal Government

Governor Andy Beshear learned Tuesday afternoon Kentucky would be receiving more COVID-19 vaccines from the federal government.

Beshear spoke with President Joe Biden’s team and learned the Commonwealth would see a 17-percent increase in vaccinations.

Beshear said that is a great start and that the federal government guarantees a minimum supply for the next three weeks.

In other news, he confirmed two cases of the COVID-19 variant from the United Kingdom had been confirmed in the state. Beshear added Dr. Steven Stack, Public Health Commissioner for the state, would talk more about it during the Wednesday COVID-19 news briefing.

In COVID-19 case news, Kentucky reported 2,714 new cases and 35 additional deaths Tuesday afternoon. The statewide positivity rate is just over 9.6-percent.
