Murray High School was placed on lockdown Monday morning shortly before 9:00 for an alleged shooting.

Murray Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Andrew Wiggins said no evidence of the shooting has been found.

Murray Independent School District Superintendent Coy Samons said officers searched the classrooms and school grounds, with the lockdown lifted around 10:00 a.m.

Samons commended his teachers and staff for their actions during the lockdown.

No arrests have been made in connection to the incident.

The incident occurred two days after the third anniversary of the shooting at Marshall County High School, which claimed the lives of Preston Cope and Bailey Holt. The schools are about 25 miles apart from each other.
