Woman Charged With Drug Possession After Running From Police

A Hopkinsville woman was charged after she reportedly ran from police during a traffic stop Saturday night.

Hopkinsville Police say 27-year-old Jessica Phillips was stopped on South Main Street in the area of East 3rd Street for a broken tail light and no license plate light. During the stop, Phillips allegedly fled on foot before running into a room at the Manhattan Motel. Police say Phillips exited the room through a window and was located just down the road.

She was arrested and reportedly found to have synthetic marijuana in her pocket after she had been asked if she had any drugs before going into the jail.

Phillips was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree promoting contraband, and possession of synthetic drugs. She was also found to have two warrants for failure to appear.
