According to a post on the Christian County Schools Facebook site Hopkinsville High School graduate Eugene Pool oversaw the inaugural ceremony in his role in the office of the Architect of the Capitol. Pool is a 1978 graduate of Hopkinsville High School.

The Architect of the Capitol erects the inaugural platform where President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris took the oath of office Wednesday morning. The office is also responsible for setting up seating and fencing on the Capitol grounds and coordinating other activities with the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies.

Pool was also instrumental in the recent renovation of the dome of the United States Capitol that was completed in 2016.
