Man Arrested After Giving Police A False Name

A man was charged with DUI after he reportedly was seen driving the wrong direction on South Virginia Street Sunday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say during the stop police could see several empty cans of beer in his backseat and he was unable to follow directions during a field sobriety test.

Police say the man gave them two different names that were not his during the traffic stop.

Police say the man gave them the address to a home where one of the false names he had used lived, the owner confirmed the man was actually using his name and that he was vaguely familiar with him but didn’t know his real name.

The man was arrested and lodged in the Christian County Jail under “John Doe”. He is charged with giving officers false identifying information, DUI, careless driving, no operator’s license, and failure to produce an insurance card.
