Hopkinsville Woman Charged With Attacking Disabled Boyfriend

A woman was charged after she allegedly assaulted her boyfriend and took belongings from him at a residence on Woodlawn Drive Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say 47-year-old Yvette Simpson grabbed her handicapped boyfriend out of a chair and threw him to the floor after a fight over money.

During the fight, she reportedly put her knee on his neck then took his wallet, money, and his vehicle before leaving.

Police say Simpson returned to the home parking in the neighbor’s driveway as police were talking with her boyfriend. Simpson reportedly told police she had not stolen anything and she had just gone to the store.

She was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery and first-degree strangulation.
