Boaters who use Kentucky Lake need to be aware a portion of Pisgah Bay will be closed from January 11 through January 27.
Officials with the Department of Kentucky Fish and Wildlife say the closure is to allow for an Asian carp research project in conjunction with the U.S. Geological Survey. The project is to gather more information on Asian carp within Kentucky Lake and researching the best methods of removal.
Officials say operating a boat within the closed area will interfere with the research effort and may result in the entanglement of propellers.
