Details Released In Hopkinsville Officer-Involved Crash

Police have released more information about a wreck on Dawson Springs Road that injured four people including a Hopkinsville Police officer Saturday night.

Kentucky State Police say a car driven by 18-year-old Armon White, of Hopkinsville, hit the back of Officer Tim Humble’s cruiser on Dawson Springs Road near the intersection of West 7th Street just after 8 pm. Both drivers along with three passengers in White’s car 18-year-old Jakiyah Henton and 18-year-old Taquavion Coleman both of Hopkinsville were reportedly taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

Police say Humble and White were then transported to Nashville hospitals. White has severe injuries, while Humble was treated and released from the hospital Sunday afternoon.

Authorities say the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck the officer’s vehicle.  

18-year-old Jarell Lidell of Hopkinsville was also in White’s car during the crash but police say he was not injured.
