Prior to his recommendations on the 2021 state budget, Governor Andy Beshear summarized the pandemic’s impact and looked ahead to the new year.
Beshear started by offering a moment of silence to lives lost over the last ten months and added in 2021, will defeat the COVID-19 pandemic.
Beshear said an effective virus response is necessary to sustain and rebuild the economy. Amid the pandemic, Beshear noted many good things occurred that will help rebuild the economy faster.
Beshear’s speech lasted nearly 30 minutes, as he appeared virtually in front of both chambers of the state legislature Thursday night.
