Christian County Adds 100+ COVID Cases for Second Straight Day

Christian County has added over 100 new COVID-19 cases for the second straight day with the county’s 680 active cases the most since December 23.

Of the active cases, 85 are teenagers or younger and 93 are over the age of 70.

Health department spokesman Amanda Sweeney said Phase 1A vaccines are being administered by the health department with plans to move into Phase 1B as soon as possible.

She said Phase 1A non-hospital health care agency employees and Phase 1B people over the age of 70 should visit the health department’s website to fill out a COVID-19 vaccine request information form.

Sweeney said the health department’s drive-through PCR testing continues at Tie Breaker Park on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 am to 10:45. The health department is no longer offering rapid testing and no longer giving isolation and quarantine letters for places of work.
