Delaware Woman Faces Drug Charges After Todd County Traffic Stop

A Delaware woman was reportedly found to have drugs in a box under her vehicle after a traffic stop in Todd County Monday morning.
Todd County Sheriff’s deputies say they attempted to stop 34-year-old Ashley Abbott after her car crossed the centerline almost hitting other vehicles on US 79 near the Kentucky Tennessee Livestock Market. Abbott allegedly failed to stop right away and started driving in the ditch on the side of the road at a low speed.

During the stop, a deputy’s K9 reportedly alerted on something under the vehicle. A plastic box with a magnet was allegedly found attached to the vehicle’s frame, inside the box heroin was found.

Abbott was also in possession of a revolver that was on her waist. She was arrested and charged with trafficking heroin, first-degree fleeing or evading police, tampering with physical evidence, reckless driving, DUI, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
