Two Arrested After Sunday Morning Traffic Stop

A traffic stop on South Clay Street led to the arrest of a Nashville man Sunday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a car for no headlights near the intersection of East 5th Street just before 1 a.m. The driver got out of the car and fled the scene on foot. A passenger in the car, 49-year-old Birldanstun Foxworth, got out shortly after and officers tried to grab him before he fled.
Police say they caught up to Foxworth and he continued to resist arrest, causing injuries to one of the officers.
Foxworth was arrested and charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, and possession of cocaine.
A third person in the car 31-year-old Thelma Latham of Crofton was also arrested on an outstanding warrant. The driver of the car has not been located.
