Christian County Elderly COVID Cases Reach New High

After three straight days of seeing active COVID-19 cases stay below 500 in Christian County, the health department reported 107 new cases Wednesday.

Of the 510 active cases, 37 are in the 85 and older category which is the most since the first case in Christian County was reported on March 19.

There were 120 cases involving people in the 60 to 84 age group which is the most in two weeks. There were 67 people 21 and under that were reported infected with the coronavirus. That is the fewest since November 29.

Christian County’s 4,268 total cases rank 12th in the state. The health department has reported 57 deaths linked to the coronavirus which is six more than listed on the state’s COVID reporting website. Christian County’s death total related to COVID-19 ranks seventh among 120 counties.
