Couple Reminisces On NYE Tradition Destroyed Christmas Day

As crews are investigating the Nashville Christmas bombing on 2nd Avenue, a local couple is reminiscing on the many dates they shared at a restaurant that was destroyed in the blast.

Christian County Family Court Judge Jason Fleming and his wife, Tonya, a licensed attorney and HR General Manager at T-RAD North America, make the hour drive to downtown Nashville to enjoy a meal at The Melting Pot every New Year’s Eve.

Fleming called the bombing a tragedy.

To ring in the new year Thursday night, Fleming said they would be supporting local.

Some wonder why the bombing hasn’t been declared an act of terrorism, and Fleming is glad it was not.

Nashville media outlets have reported that the bombing is believed to be an isolated event.

The suspect, 63-year-old Anthony Quinn Warner, died in the blast that occurred around 6:30 Christmas morning.
