COVID Increases Continue In Aging Trigg Population

Trigg County has added 28 new COVID-19 cases to its December total with half the cases involving people 60 and older.

Information released by the Pennyrile District Health Department Monday showed 14 of the new cases reported since Friday were in the 60 to 85 age group and one 86 and older. Another 13 cases were in the 22 to 59 age group.

In December, 47-percent of Trigg County’s new cases are in the 22 to 59 age group. Another 40-percent of the month’s cases are between the ages of 60 and 85.

Despite schools not offering in-person classes since before Thanksgiving, only 18 cases or less than one per day has been reported in the 21 and under age group in the county.

As of Friday, the county’s active case total of 112 was the high total since the pandemic began.
