New Trigg COVID Cases Spread Evenly Among Non-Teen Age Groups

Trigg County added 12 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday with 11 of those cases involving people 40 and older.

According to the Pennyrile District Health Department, Trigg County has added 53 cases in the past week with only three of those cases involving school-age children. 15 cases involve people between 19 and 40 and 15 cases involve people 60 and up.

Trigg County has reported 485 cases since the onset of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, an outbreak of cases at the Western Kentucky Correctional Complex near Fredonia has resulted in a spike in Lyon County cases. 25 of the 42 cases reported in Lyon County in the past week were announced Tuesday.

According to the Kentucky Department of Corrections, there are 17 active staff cases and 29 infected inmates at the correctional complex. There are three active cases at the Kentucky State Penitentiary in Eddyville.

All of those cases are added to the Lyon County total and are factored in the county’s incidence rate.
