I-24 Rehab Work Nearing End With Friday Lane Shift

Motorists on I-24 will see a traffic shift Friday from the Cadiz exit to Lyon County as paving work concludes over a 14-mile stretch of the interstate.

Eastbound drivers will see the traffic shift at the 51-mile marker around noon and drive on the newly constructed concrete pavement. The eastbound on-ramps and off-ramps at Exit 56 in Caldwell County will also reopen.

Eastbound traffic will be one-lane at different locations in Lyon, Caldwell, and Trigg counties through Christmas.

Once the shift occurs, workers will remove the centerline barrier wall at two locations in the westbound lanes which may cause some traffic delays over the next two weeks. Once the barrier walls are removed, some patching work will be required with a goal of having normal westbound flow ahead of Christmas.

Work on a six-mile rehab project that will include extensive concrete rehab in the westbound lanes of the same stretch of I-24 will begin in the spring.
