The passenger in a stolen car that fled from police was arrested after a wreck early Tuesday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 18-year-old Everett Cosby was found to be a passenger in a stolen car that was taken while the driver was inside a gas station on West 7th Street. The car was reportedly found by police at the intersection of West 9th Street and West 7th Street with no lights on and traveling at a high rate of speed.
Police say they attempted to stop the car and the driver fled before wrecking the vehicle near Belmont Street. The driver fled on foot and has not been located.
Cosby reportedly told police he didn’t know who the driver of the car was. Cosby was arrested and charged with theft of a vehicle and first-degree fleeing or evading police.
