Princeton Man Charged with Taking Cash Register From Madisonville Taco Bell

A Princeton man was arrested and charged in connection to a burglary at a fast-food restaurant in Madisonville Saturday afternoon.

Madisonville police report 39-year old Heath Baldwin was charged with third-degree burglary, fleeing and evading police, and other offenses after he unlawfully entered Taco Bell at 21 Madison Square Avenue around 5:10 Saturday afternoon, took the cash register, and then fled the scene. Police said the person who called in the burglary was able to provide a description of the suspect’s vehicle and the license plate number.

According to police, units with the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department located the vehicle on Sandcut Road and attempted to make a traffic stop, but Baldwin fled. Deputies pursued the vehicle until it became inoperable after hitting a tire deflation device at the intersection of Highway 2171 and South Main Street and slowed to a stop. Police said Baldwin was taken into custody and the cash register was found in the front seat of the vehicle.

Baldwin was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail where was also reportedly served an unrelated warrant by the sheriff’s office.
