Man Charged After Todd County Pursuit

A pursuit in Todd County led to the arrest of a man on several felony charges Wednesday night.

Todd County Sheriff’s deputies say they attempted to stop 48-year-old Joseph Goodin of Todd County on Highland Lick Road near the intersection of Shemwell Road after he failed to come to a complete stop at the intersection.
Goodin reportedly fled and crossed into the opposite lane before coming to a stop and exiting his truck near the intersection of Allegre Road.
A large amount of meth was allegedly found in a box in his truck along with marijuana and a machete.
Deputies say Goodin told them he didn’t stop because he had warrants out of Texas. He reportedly took ownership of the drugs found in the truck and his passenger was not charged.
Goodin was charged with reckless driving, first-degree fleeing or evading police, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, trafficking meth within 1,000 feet of a school, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, and several traffic violations.
Texas would not extradite Goodin due to COVID-19.
