Bond Set for Caldwell County Murder Suspect

Bond has been set for a South Carolina man being held in connection to the death of his wife whose body was found in Caldwell County this past summer.

According to Caldwell County Circuit Court Judge Woody Woodall’s office, he signed an Order Tuesday morning setting a $1 million bond in the murder case of 53-year old Joseph Florentine. The motion for a bond to be set was filed by Florentine’s defense attorney David Bundrick earlier this month.

Florentine is charged with murder and abuse of a corpse. The charges stem from June when state police reported they were contacted by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department about a female body that was found in Hill Cemetery in Fredonia. The body was later identified as Florentine’s wife, 36-year old Nicole Renee Florentine, also of Rock Hill.

According to state police, Joseph Florentine was located and arrested in Denver, Colorado on June 23rd and extradited back to Kentucky. He is currently lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
