Driver Charged After Trigg County Rollover Crash

A wreck on U.S. 68 in Land Between the Lakes led to several felony charges for the driver Friday morning.

Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say a car driven by 31-year-old DaJuan Burgess-Harris was westbound when it ran off the road and into a ditch just before the Golden Pond Target Range.
The car overturned coming to a rest on its top. While deputies were heading to the crash witnesses stated Burgess-Harris ran into the woods.
Deputies say when he was asked about what happened in the crash he would not give them any information.
Burgess-Harris and his passenger were taken by ambulance to Trigg County Hospital for what deputies say are non-life-threatening injuries.
As Burgess-Harris was being arrested at the hospital he reportedly tried to escape causing several hundred dollars worth of damage to hospital equipment.
The crash happened just after midnight. Burgess-Harris is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree escape, first-degree criminal mischief, and menacing.
