Kentucky Reports Again Highest Single-Day Total of New COVID Cases

Kentucky reported another record number of COVID-19 cases and the second-highest number of deaths for a single day, Thursday.

During his news briefing, Governor Andy Beshear reported 3,649 new cases and 30 new deaths.

 

He added there had been 148,390 total cases and 1,742 deaths since the pandemic began. The state’s positivity rate rose to 9.18-percent.

Currently, 1,550 people who have tested positive for the virus are hospitalized, with 358 in the ICU and 199 on the ventilator. 112 counties across the Commonwealth remain in the red zone.

Governor Beshear also shared the recent recommendation from the CDC about not traveling during the Thanksgiving holiday.
