Christian County Officials Talk Temporary In-Person Service Closures

Officials in Christian County had a chance to share how their offices will be handling this latest round of COVID-19 restrictions during a health department news conference Thursday morning.

Judge-Executive Steve Tribble said they would go back to the way they operated back in March and April.

Tribble added the County Clerks Office would operate the same way beginning Monday.

Also, the Christian County Animal Shelter will no longer accept pets until further notice.

Hopkinsville Mayor Wendell Lynch said they were originally going to close the municipal center on Monday, November 30, to in-person traffic.

In Oak Grove, the city hall is closed to in-person traffic, but business can still be conducted via the drive-thru window.

Mayor Theresa Jarvis joined Lynch and Tribble and said the community needs to help slow the spread by following all guidelines.

Jarvis added we all really need to think about our families before getting together for Thanksgiving.

Each government office in Hopkinsville, Oak Grove, and Christian County will be open; call if you are unsure how to complete your business through the temporary in-person closure.
