CCPS Middle Schools Will Keep Current In-Person Instruction Schedule

Christian County Public Schools will not bring middle school students back to full-time learning in the classroom at this time.

During a board workshop Thursday evening, members heard from Superintendent Chris Bentzel, who suggested not bringing them back to a traditional model.

Bentzel also gave an update as to why the district decided to halt winter and spring athletics and extracurricular activities through Friday, November 20.

He added they would allow both Hopkinsville and Christian County high schools to finish out their football seasons.

As for Millbrooke Elementary School, Bentzel said they plan to bring teachers and students back to the classroom on Monday.

Currently, the entire district reports 14 active faculty and staff cases and 26 active in-person student cases. 189 students are in quarantine because of close contact with an active case with 67 from Christian County Middle School, 39 from Millbrooke, and 35 from Hopkinsville Middle School.
