New Internet Option Coming to Trigg County

A new internet option is coming to residents of Trigg County. Judge Executive Hollis Alexander told magistrates Monday night, a partnership between Hopkinsville Electric System and Energynet and Pennyrile Electric will make it possible. He added an official announcement would be made on Wednesday, November 18.

The announcement will be made at noon that day in front of the Trigg County Justice Center.

Magistrates also heard from Major Mike Sandbrink from the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office, who presented a report of calls for service conducted last month. Sandbrink also said the county needs to begin looking into replacing at least two vehicles the department owns that have over 150,000 miles and require costly repairs.

Alexander said they would start discussions when Sheriff Acree returns to work, hopefully, next week, after his administrative leave.

Magistrates also heard from Trigg County residents Jim Mullen and Wayne Gundry, who voiced concerns about Kentucky 1489 and the new connection points to U.S. 68/Kentucky 80. The News Edge will share their concerns Wednesday.
