COVID Cases Continue to Escalate in Friday Update

Governor Andy Beshear asked residents Friday to make a plan for a safe Halloween as COVID-19 cases rise across the commonwealth and the nation.

Beshear said the more cases, the more people in the hospital, the more people in the ICU, and the more people who die. He added it’s time for a coordinated community effort with everybody on board and leadership, not excuses.

The governor confirmed 1,941 COVID-19 cases and 15 deaths Friday. The state’s positivity rate sits at 6.19-percent.
