Christian County Magistrates Approve Second Round of COVID-19 Relief Funds

Christian County magistrates approved the second request for Coronavirus Relief Funds and early voting election officers during their virtual meeting Tuesday morning.

County treasurer Walter Cummings said the amount of the request is over $731,200.

 

Cummings adds the final funding request should be made during the first court meeting in January.

In other business, magistrates approved 12 early voting election officers. Judge-Executive Steve Tribble said the officers have been working at the county’s two early voting sites since October 13.

 

As of Monday afternoon, the Christian County Clerk’s Office said over 7,000 people had taken advantage of early voting. Voting continues this week, including Saturday and Monday, November 2, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

 

On Election Day, on November 3, officials said there would be seven locations to vote from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

They include; the Bruce Convention Center, the Christian County Courthouse, the senior citizens center, Valor Hall in Oak Grove, Sinking Fork Baptist Church, Pembroke Baptist Church, and Crofton City Hall.
