Trigg Hospital Board Approves Purchase of Pulse Moses Machine

Trigg County Hospital Board of Trustees members approved to purchase a new piece of equipment for the surgery center during their Thursday evening meeting.

Hospital CEO John Sumner said the recommendation to purchase the Lumenis Pulse Moses came from Dr. James Fellows.

He added a discount is available if the hospital purchases more than one year of the warranty and maintenance package. The equipment’s total cost is around $219,000 and will come with a three-year warranty and maintenance.

Dr. Fellows, who was unable to attend the meeting, told Sumner they could do between five and ten procedures a month. Sumner added it would take 40 procedures a year to pay for the equipment.

CFO Don Michaels said patient revenue, surgery, lab, and pharmacy were up for September in other news.

The board also approved medical staff credentials for fifteen people and heard updates on other aspects of the hospital. The board typically meets on the fourth Thursday of each month.
