Cadiz Man Charged With Attempted Murder Arraigned Wednesday

A Cadiz man indicted for attempted murder after he allegedly cut another man with a knife earlier this year appeared for his arraignment in Trigg County Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon.

Dustin Underwood was also indicted by a Trigg County grand jury for first-degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and being a persistent felony offender.

Underwood and his court-appointed public defender, Mary Rohrer appeared before Judge C.A. “Woody” Woodall and entered a not guilty plea.

Underwood’s charges stem from May 19 when state police said he used a knife to cut a 35-year old man’s jawline during a fight in southern Trigg County. Police reportedly learned about the fight when the man showed up at the emergency room at Trigg County Hospital.

Underwood remains lodged in the Christian County Jail.
