Area Businesses Receive Governor’s Safety and Health Award

Three Hopkinsville businesses were among 37 across the state awarded the Governor’s Safety and Health Award this week.

According to Governor Andy Beshear’s office, these businesses achieved more than 59 million hours worked without a lost-time injury by employees in 2019 and 2020. The awards are handed out by the Kentucky Labor Cabinet to highlight outstanding safety and health performance at each of the workplaces.

In Hopkinsville, Amfine Chemical Corporation (773,695 hours), Riken Elastomers (818,031 hours), and Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority (1,054,342 hours) were presented awards. Madisonville West Side Wastewater Treatment Plant (580,080 hours) was also presented an award.
