Officials with the Christian County Health Department confirmed the county’s 23rd COVID linked death Tuesday afternoon.
Spokeswoman Amanda Sweeney said the 70-year-old white male had underlying health conditions. She added their thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the deceased.
In addition, the department confirmed 9 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, but the number of active cases decreased by 38 to 196. Of those active cases, 134 are among those younger than 60, and 62 are among those 60 or older.
Christian County has 1,337 total cases with 1,118 recoveries since mid-March.
