The Christian County Health Department reported 29 new COVID-19 cases Friday afternoon.
The department added the total case number now sits at 1,290. Of those cases, 233 are active, including 160 among those 59 or younger. In addition, 73 active cases are among those 60 or older.
The increase in active cases among the older population could be linked to a COVID-19 outbreak at Christian Health Center in Hopkinsville.
The Kentucky COVID-19 website said the center has 48 active cases among residents and 15 among employees.
Additionally, 7 residents and 2 staff members are deemed active cases at Grace and Mercy.
