The Trigg County community is offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for the death of Ilene Barnett.

Kentucky State Police say, Barnett, who was 81, was found inside her home following a fire that began shortly after midnight Thursday. Police say an autopsy was performed the following day at the state medical examiner’s office in Louisville and her death was ruled as a murder. Law enforcement believes Barnett died before the fire they believe was set intentionally.

The Trigg County Sheriff’s Office says a substantial amount of money was donated Tuesday to the crime stoppers program to provide a reward to anyone that can provide information that leads to the arrest of whoever is responsible.

Anyone who has information is asked to call (270) 522-(INFO) 4636 or Kentucky State Police Post 1 at (270) 856-3721. If you call crime stoppers, you can remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward for information leading to an arrest.
