Ground Cleared for New Genesis Express Location (w/Video)

A dream is one step closer to reality for Genesis Express in Cadiz as the ground was cleared Monday on what will be their new location.

Organization historian Jonathan White spent part of the morning watching the work being done as trees were cleared away to help make room for buildings, a park, and an amphitheater.

White told the News Edge this has been a dream for their organization which originated in 1987.

White added the property, which is about a half a mile from their current location, originally started off as a donation by the Oates family.

The property is about 3.1 acres and will feature a walking trail and a road that connects Jefferson Street and Will Jackson Road.

He said this project has become a labor of love, especially for Genesis Express president George Radford, who undertook the project.

All in all, White said he is excited to see the property being used for good and not just sitting empty.

Donations to the project can be made here or by mailing a check to P.O. Box 907, Cadiz, Kentucky, 42211.

The goal of Genesis Express is to provide programs to help community members lead valuable, productive, healthy, and happy lives.
