Beshear Shares Unemployment Benefits Update

Governor Andy Beshear says that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has again changed their guidance to reflect what they had previously said about getting tested if you are around people who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Beshear shares they have gone back to their original thoughts on the topic.

Beshear adds there are some highlights in the guidance.

In other updates, the governor says they have applied for an additional 3 weeks of the $400 of unemployment checks for people who qualify.

In a long-term care facility update the state is slightly easing restrictions on visitation, facilities will need to be COVID-19 free for 14 days before visits are allowed again instead of 28 days.

Governor Beshear says there are 406 new cases Monday and the state’s positivity rate is now 3.77%. One new death was also confirmed.

In other health updates, Governor Beshear advises everyone who is able to get a flu shot.

He adds if you don’t get a flu shot and get symptoms you might cause concern because people think you have COVID-19.
