Trigg Schools Ready to Resume In-Person Classes

Trigg County Public Schools Superintendent Bill Thorpe tells the News Edge students who want to return to the classroom will be able to do so on Monday, September 28.

Thorpe says that will not change unless another mandate comes down from Governor Andy Beshear’s office.

Governor Beshear told members of the media on Monday, there would be no further recommendations concerning the start of in-person instruction from his office unless the statewide COVID-19 positivity rate was above 6%.

Thorpe assures parents the schools are cleaned regularly.

Thorpe adds the renovation at the primary and intermediate school is going along nicely.

The renovations in the elementary school will allow for easier social distancing.

Thorpe says the construction progress at the elementary school is ahead of schedule because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the delay of in-person classes across the state. Construction will continue at the school during the summer break of 2021, to finish out the over $17 million renovation project.
