Kentucky Projected to Hit One Million COVID-19 Tests

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced 721 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday.

Governor Beshear says the state now has 56,415 total cases. He adds of the new cases, 81 were reported in children, with the youngest being a 6-month-old from Warren County.

The governor also announced 13 new deaths Saturday, including a 78-year-old woman from Logan County, a 59-year-old woman from Muhlenberg County, and three women and a 72-year-old man from Warren County.

As of Saturday afternoon, there have been at least 990,957 COVID-19 tests performed in the Commonwealth. At the rate that COVID-19 tests are reported by Governor Andy Beshear, the state is expected to surpass 1 million total tests next week.

The state’s positivity rate now sits at 4.14%.
