Trigg Magistrates Approve First Reading of 2020 Tax Rates

Trigg County magistrates approved the first reading of the tax rates for 2020, during their virtual meeting Tuesday afternoon, which includes no changes.

Judge-Executive Hollis Alexander says the tax rates will remain the exact same as the 2019 rate.

The second reading and approval of the tax rates will come during the next meeting, which will be held Monday evening, September 21 at 6:00 at the EOC Building at 39 Jefferson Street.

Alexander says the meetings will be held at the EOC Building during their regular times until further notice.

In other action, the court approved to surplus Trigg County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Kratos.

Alexander adds by placing Kratos in surplus, he is no longer the county’s responsibility.

This action comes after Trigg County Sheriff Aaron Acree removed all staff members from the department after former Sheriff Jason Barnes left office. Kratos was given to the department around March 2019.
