U.S. Senate Candidate McGrath Discusses COVID-19 Plan

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Amy McGrath was in Hopkinsville Thursday afternoon to host a campaign event to visit with potential voters.

The News Edge had a chance to speak with McGrath aboard the plane she is flying across the Commonwealth, while at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Airport.

McGrath says more action needs to be taken in the battle against COVID-19.

McGrath adds McConnell needs to take responsibility for the COVID-19 recovery plan and help Americans.

She adds there needs to be a national plan in place to get the economy restored and tackle healthcare.

In addition, McGrath says infrastructure needs to be a priority.

During the conversation, McGrath was asked by the News Edge about Republican Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles calling her out for not participating in the Kentucky Farm Bureau ‘Meet the Candidates Forum’ last week.

In comments to the News Edge, Quarles felt by not participating McGrath “snubbed rural Kentucky”.

McGrath says the real snub or slap to the face of the agriculture community has come from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Before stopping in Hopkinsville Thursday, McGrath made stops in Boone and Breckinridge counties, as she continues her tour across the Commonwealth before the November General Election.
