14th Death Related To COVID-19 Reported In Christian County

The Christian County Health Department reported the county’s fourteenth death related to the coronavirus Monday afternoon and several new positive cases.

According to Director Kayla Bebout, the latest death is an 85-year old white, non-Hispanic male with underlying health conditions. She says their hearts go out to the man’s friends and family during this difficult time.

With the fifteen new cases confirmed Monday, the total number of active cases is now at 238. Of that number, 133 are between the age of 22 to 59; 63 are 21-years old and younger; 36 cases are between 60 and 84 years old, and six are 85 and older.

To date, 888 COVID cases have been confirmed in Christian County with 636 recoveries since the pandemic began earlier this year.

Also, due to forecasted inclement weather for Tuesday, Bebout says the health department is cancelling its drive thru test site at Tie Breaker Park on Eagle Way Bypass. She adds drive-thru testing at Tie Breaker Park will resume, Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., weather permitting.
