Five Injured In Early Morning Madisonville Shooting

A shooting on Elm Street in Madisonville sent five people to the hospital with gunshot wounds early Sunday morning.

Madisonville Police say they were called for an assault and found that two people had fired shots hitting five people including 43-year-old Lahonda Walker, of Madisonville. Walker along with a 14-year-old teenager was flown to an Evansville hospital with what were called severe injuries.

Three others were taken to Baptist Health for what were termed non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the shooting happened near the intersection of Elm Street and Pride Avenue around 1 am.
