Kentucky is now posting coronavirus case data in the state’s school districts, colleges, and universities on its COVID-19 website.
The first numbers were released Monday. It showed 31 school districts in the state with at least one case linked to COVID-19 among students and staff. 50 of the 140 cases involving students were listed as active, including three in Trigg County, two in Murray, and one in Logan County.
21 of the 31 cases involving staff members were listed as active with two listed in the Todd County and Calloway County school districts.
The report is broken down by school district and by individual school — both public and private. Governor Andy Beshear said the state posts the data on its website as it is confirmed by the Kentucky Department of Public Health. Like regular COVID-19 reporting, numbers at the local level will be the most accurate until the state receives the case data from the local and regional health departments.
