Police have located the driver of a stolen truck that was involved in a wreck on East 7th Street in Hopkinsville Tuesday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say a Toyota Tacoma that had been reported stolen in Florida was found after it was involved in a crash on East 7th Street at the intersection of Liberty Street. Police say the driver 33-year-old Michael Prater attempted to pass several vehicles waiting at a stop sign on East 7th Street by going in the opposite lane of traffic and hit a vehicle.
Prater then fled on foot after the wreck but was later located by police. He was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center then flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center due to his injuries.
The crash happened just after 5 pm. Police say charges are pending due to Prater’s injuries.
