Two Hopkinsville Men Charged With Possession Of Meth

A traffic stop for excessive window tint on Walnut Street led to drug charges against two me Tuesday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say 27-year-old Brandon Gard was stopped in the area of Central Avenue and during the stop, he was found to be driving on a suspended license. Police say Gard gave consent to search the vehicle and meth, marijuana along with syringes were found.
Gard’s passenger 27-year-old Shawn Ellis reportedly gave police a false name and date of birth during the stop.
Gard and Ellis are charged with possession of meth and marijuana.
Gard was cited for excessive window tint and no registration plate. Ellis was also charged with theft of identity and arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.
