Cadiz Police Arrest Man For Fleeing on Bicycle Following Theft Complaint

A Cadiz man was arrested after police say he tried to elude them on a bicycle following a complaint of shoplifting. Chief Duncan Wiggins said 24-year-old Joshua Harris was charged with Theft under $500 and Second-Degree Fleeing Police following a reported shoplifting from the Dollar General Store on Main Street.

Police said Harris took a package of shirts from the store and rode away on a bicycle. Chief Wiggins said Harris refused to stop after his lights and siren were activated, rode two blocks, and was arrested when trying to make entry into his residence on Glendale Drive.

Police said they located the package of shirts in Harris’ backyard.
