Princeton Man Facing Multiple Charges in Lyon County

45-year-old Christopher M. Oakley

A Princeton man is facing several charges in Lyon County following two separate incidents in July and August.

Lyon County Sheriff Brent White said deputies responded to Buzzard Rock Bar in Eddyville on the evening of July 11th in reference to a man who was allegedly stalking an employee and was causing a disturbance. He adds management told deputies the man, later identified as 45-year-old Christopher M. Oakley, had been stalking one of their employees and became disruptive when he was asked to leave. After being escorted to the parking lot, White said Oakley began shouting at management, pulled out a handgun, and made several threatening statements. Oakley then fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.

Sheriff White reports his office later received information that Oakley was attempting to stalk the victim at their place of residence in Eddyville and had requested increased patrol in the area. He notes on the evening of August 1st his office and the Eddyville Police Department were dispatched to a burglary in process at the same residence.

When law enforcement arrived, the victim told deputies Oakley had unlawfully entered the home and had proceeded to beat on doors and attempted to make contact with the victim. A verbal altercation occurred and Oakley reportedly pushed the victim. He then fled through the window before law enforcement could arrive.

Just before five Tuesday evening, the Princeton Police Department was able to make contact with Oakley and took him into custody. Oakley was served two Lyon County warrants charging him with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault – domestic violence, and three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail before being transferred to the Crittenden County Detention Center.
